Ringoot History

In 1965, Georges Ringoot founded the small family business ‘Ringoot’. When he imported the first wagons of fruit from Italy and France, the Brabant-based chicory export company acquired the status of an import company. The import business grew, so much so that in addition to the Turn & Taxis import centre of the time, a Cree warehouse was purchased on the corner of Avenue de Dixmude and Avenue d'Ypres in Brussels. It was here that the foundations were laid for a flourishing business relationship with Spain. In the meantime, an own brand, ‘Les Rives’, was introduced.
The ‘Les Rives’ brand, which originally came from French apple imports, was transferred to the Spanish orange and clementine sector.
In 1974, Dany Ringoot joined the team. The work continued for around five years, with outdated equipment in outdated warehouses. However, the family business was given a fresh start thanks to the collaboration between GOMB Brussels and the importers' associations. This fruitful collaboration led to the creation of a new functional market on the Werkhuizenkaai in Brussels. In 1981, SPRL Georges Ringoot took over the French apple supplier. In Spain, the brand has been a great success, and ‘Les Rives’ has acquired a high profile in the Belgian and Luxembourg markets.
The future of the Ringoot Group is now in the hands of Dany Ringoot's son, Olivier Ringoot. The entire Ringoot Group team is giving fresh drive to the expansion of the family business and the daily supply of quality fruit to customers. In this way, years of experience and new knowledge are combined to ensure that Ringoot Fruit always guarantees the highest level of quality.
